Download Now!
Description:
Results of the Climasol-project:
The brochure offers a complete survey about all the different techniques related to solar air conditioning, useful information and advises. It also contains depth description of working installations in the different countries of the project's partners.

Original language Description:

Download Now! Climatização_Solar (Climasol - Guidelines for Solar Air Conditioning (Portuguese version)) Submitted Date:  2008/11/14
Description:
Results of the Climasol-project:
The brochure offers a complete survey about all the different techniques related to solar air conditioning, useful information and advises. It also contains depth description of working installations in the different countries of the project's partners.

Original language Description:

Description:
This report describes the characteristics of a small size cogeneration plant built at Castel D'Aiano, on the Italian central Apennines mountains, based on wood chips gasification and a Stirling engine. The report includes also information on costs for building the plant.
The structure of the micro cogeneration plant is as follows:
- updraft gasifier produces a gas from wood chips, 200 kWt thermal capacity
- a combustion chamber where the gas is burnt in order to provide thermal energy to the electricity generator
- an internal combustion Stirling enginge coupled to an electricity generator of 35 kWel power
- a heat recovery system in order to send the heat to the district heating network
The network serve a small school complex.
The overall capacity of the system is: 35 kW electrical power and 140 kW thermal power

Original language Description:

Download Now! Energetic and environmental performance evaluation of micro-polygeneration systems for small office  (Energetic and environmental performance evaluation of micro-polygeneration systems for small office ) Submitted Date:  2009/8/18
Description:
The performance of building integrated polygeneration in terms of energy savings and environmental impact reduction are evaluated for small, well insulated office buildings by means of a simulation based case study.
The micro-polygeneration system assumed comprises a natural gas driven micro-cogeneration (CGU) unit, a thermally driven cooling (TDC) unit and a back-up boiler. Cases with different combinations of capacities and efficiencies of CGU and TDC unit are analyzed, and compared to the reference system with gas boiler and grid electricity. The office building considered complies with advanced building standards. Cooling and heating is provided by thermo-active building systems (concrete core pipe systems). The building loads are determined as 1h-values with the whole-building simulation program TRNSYS, using standard occupancy and electric demand profiles specified by Swiss standards. Energy carriers are natural gas as fuel and grid electricity considering three different generation mixes: Swiss, European and combined cycle power plant.
